The history that begins with the Serbian Revolution, was a national uprising, and a constitutional change in Serbia, and took place between 1804 and 1835.
The first part of the period, from 1804 to 1817, was marked by a violent struggle for the independence of the Ottoman Empire.
The following period (1817-1835), witnessed a peaceful consolidation of the political power of increasingly autonomous Serbia.
The adoption of the first Constitution written in 1835, abolished servitude, and made the country sovereign.
