A person who is 5.8 feet tall is standing in a pool. The top of the person's head is 1.6 feet above the surface of the water. How deep is the pool? Write your answer as a decimal.

Since the top of the person's head is above the water (by 1.6 feet), that means the water is less than 5.8 feet (the person's height).
So we have to subtract 5.8 - 1.6, and I believe the answer will be 4.2 feet.
The pool is 4.2 feet deep :)
