Divide 14 2/5 by 6 to determine the number of pounds each person receives.
Convert 14 2/5 into an improper fraction: 72/5.
Divide 6 into 72/5; the result is 12/5, or 2 2/5 lb.
Each friend receives 2 2/5 lb of the pecans.
