First, you would need to know the equation is 1.5x+2=14. Solving this would get you the answer. First, you subtract 2 from each side getting 1.5x=12. Then you have to divide both sides by 1.5 getting your answer x=8.

8 years. Beacuse 14-2=12 and then 12÷1.5=8.
