Correlational studies show that heavy exposure to media violence among 9- to 11-year-olds in the U.S. causes increased rates of violent behavior when they were teens. Young children, especially at ages 9-11 years old are still in their developmental stage. Thus, they only tend to imitate what they often see, not knowing if it's right or wrong.
