The surface area (SA) of a cube, which has 6 faces, is the 6 times the area of one face, length×length, or:

{l}^(2) * 6
And the volume (V) of a cube is the length times width times depth, which are all the same (length×length×length), or:

{l}^(3)
Therefore the SA/V ratio is:

6 {l}^(2) / {l}^(3) = 6( {6}^(2)) / ( {6}^(3) ) = 6(36) / 6 / 216 = 216 / 216 = 1
