I finally got my top braces on a few days ago, and was given several tools to help maintain good oral hygiene. One of the tools was a little brush, (I believe called a soft pick,) used to clean plaque and food beneath the wire. I've used this daily, and after use it has quite a bit of plaque on it. (I brush and floss diligently as well.) The worse part is that the brush has this musty, moldy odor to it. I've only been using it for a few days, and already it smells rancid. This is not from my breath however, I'm wondering what it is from and how to prevent it? Also would you have any tips for helping eradicate food stuck between teeth that may be hard to get out with floss? Thanks!

Well I think it smells because of the plaque on it, and a good way to clean in between your teeth is a water pic.
