What problems did immigrants face for living in tenements (poor people)?

There were many, many, MANY problems that they faced, but the biggest two problems were Hygiene, and space. Tenements were notoriously small, and housed multiple families at once. With little to no room for plumbing and electrical wires, many tenements were without efficient amounts of running water and heat. This then lead to multiple disease epidemics, which included: cholera, typhoid, smallpox, and tuberculosis.

Unhealthy air to breathe
Rampant diseases spreading due to unsanitary conditions
and others
