Given that 5/8


\begin{gathered} (5)/(8)\text{ =0.625} \\ \text{The decimal is terminating} \end{gathered}

5/ 8 = 0 remainder 5

add zero to the 5 and that becomes 50

50/8 = 6 reminder 2

add 0 to the 2 and that becomes 20

20/8 = 2 remainder 4

add 0 to the 4 and that becomes 40

40 / 8 = 5

therefore, 5/8 = 0.625
