Why do you think societies need laws? What functions do laws provide to societies? What do you think life would be like if there were no laws governing our behaviors?

Why do I think societies need laws? I think society in theseestablishing standards, maintaining order, resolving disputes, and protecting liberties and rights to keep things in order, to keep the society protected/safe. What functions do laws provide to societies? Some Functions laws provide to societies by having standards & maintaining order. What do you think life would be like if there were no laws governing our behaviors? I think life will be horrible out laws and rules. I feel like there will be more violence. There will be people just everywhere, and they will be no structure.

well for one ,Without laws there would be no control, stuff will be crazy out in this world and people will choose to do what they want without considering the thought there might be punishments for your acts. The law serves many purposes and functions in society. Four principal purposes and functions are establishing standards, maintaining order, resolving disputes, and protecting liberties and rights. The law is a guidepost for minimally acceptable behavior in society.
