Work out the value of: xy + 5 when x = 2 and y = -3

first you set it up

(2)(-3)+5
Next you do the parenthesis first so (2)(-3)= -6

-6+5
Now you add it all up
-6+5=-1
And there is your answer -1

x = 2
y = -3

(2)(-3) + 5

-6 + 5 = -1

-1 is your answer
