It shouldn't matter too much since it will normally fade quickly.

Sensory memory, being very short-term in nature, will most likely fade within about half of a second of stimulus. Rehearsal, unlike with other forms of memory, will not increase recall. Attention to the memories will filter only the important ones to be encoded into long-term memory.
