Glucose aversion in cockroaches is increasing, and this is an adaptation. It is believed that this in response to the increase in use of sweet-tasting baits that would attract and ultimately poison them. Their brains now interpret the sweet taste as bitter, as humans and other animals frequently do with poisonous plants and animals they may attempt to consume.
