as

(x)/(4) - \: 16 = - 32

then adding 16 both sides of the equation

(x)/(4) = - 32 + 16 = - 16

then multiplying 4 both sides

x = - 16 * 4 = - 64
...

so the requires answer is -64

First, add 16 to both sides
This makes it x/4= -16
Now, multiply 4 from both sides
X = -64
