Given: (- 6/5) k = 12 ; Solve for: "k" ;

Multiply each side of the equation by "5" ; to get rid of the "fraction":

5* (-6/5) k = 12 * 5 ;

to get:

- 6 k = 60 ;

Divide each side of the equation by "-6" ;
________________________________________
- 6 k / 6 = 60 / 6 ;

to get:

-1 k = 10 ;
_______________________
Divide each side of the equation by "-1" ;
to isolate "k" on one side of the equation ; and to solve for "k" ;
________________________
- 1 k / -1 = 10 / -1 ;
