The neighborhood where I live was settled on a bad engineering project, leaving the neighborhood susceptible to flooding. Floods are terrible because they cause a great economic loss to citizens and are dangerous to their health. Although the part of the neighborhood I live in has never flooded, my family and I have an emergency plan should the flood come to our house.
Our emergency plan consists of:
- Move around as many non-perishable objects and foods in the attic, as well as carry flashlights and drinking water.
- Keep calm and call the rescue team.
- Keep a radio with extra batteries so we can have some communication with those outside the flooded area.
