A bowling ball has a mass of 7 kg, a moment of inertia of 2.8 x 10^-2 kgm^2, and a radius of 0.10 m. If it rolls down the lane without slipping at a linear of 4 m/s, what isits total kinetic energy?

The kinetic energy is given by:

K=(1)/(2)mv^2

where m is the mass and v is the velocity; plugging the values given we have that:

\begin{gathered} K=(1)/(2)(7)(4) \\ K=14 \end{gathered}

Therefore the kinetic energy of the ball is 14 J
