These systems perform what-if analysis. These tactics allow for alternative decisions to be made and the solutions gleaned from them to be compared against the current decision tree as a way of looking for better, more cost-effective solutions. If the new decision turns out to be better for the business as a whole, it can then be implemented with the knowledge that there is evidence backing the decision up.
