The two elements that a thesis statement needs to contain are the topic and the writer's viewpoint.
A thesis statement is used to present your own idea that you are trying to explain throughout the essay. It should clearly state the topic and your opinions on it, and then the rest of the introduction will state the purpose, whereas the audience and brainstorming don't necessarily have to be mentioned.
