Earnings (total) = $75 (bonus) + wt, where w are the hourly wages (a unit rate) and t represents the number of hours worke.
Example: John works 17 hours at $8.90 per hour.
John's wages will be $75 + ($8.90 / hour) (17 hours) = $75 + $151.30.
