(1/8)(3d) + (1/8)(-2)= (1/4)(d) + (1/4)(5)
3/8d+ -1/4= 1/4d+5/4
subtract 1/4d from both sides
1/8d+ -1/4 - 5/4
add 1/4 to both sides
1/8d=3/2
multiply both sides by 8
d=12
