Answer: +5

Explanation: When a problem is asking us to find the absolute value of a number, it's really asking us how far is that number from zero.

So the absolute value of -5 is really asking us

how far is -5 away from zero on a number line.

I have drawn a number line below and you can see that -5

is 5 units to the left of zero which means its 5 units from zero.

So the absolute value of -5 is +5.
