The correct equation of proportions would be $34 x
------- . Set this = to --------
4 hr 10 hr

$34 x
_____ = --------- Cross multiply: ($34)(10 hr) = 4(hr)x
4 hr 10 hr

Cancel "hr" on both sides. Then $340 = 4x, and x = $85.

She could earn $85 working 10 hours.

So she earned $34 in 4 hours, meaning she was earning at the rate of 34/4 or $8.5/hour.  Is she works for 10 hours at the same rate, it would be 8.5 x 10 = $85.  B is the correct proportion.
