2(2q + 15) = 18 - q how do i find the answer to this equation step by step

First, you would use the distributive property to simplitfy both sides of the equation.
4q + 30 = 18 - q

Next, you would add like terms. Ex: 4q and q. (Note: Remember! q has and invisible 1 in front of it.)
5q + 30 = 18
5q = -12

Your last step would be to isolate the q.
5q/5 = -12/5

q = -2.4
