If a model of a bed is on sale for $1100 out of $1200, you determine the percentage off with 1100/1200, which simplifies to 11/12. 11/12 is 91.7%. We then subtract that from 100%, so we get 100-91.7, leading us to a percentage saved of 8.3%.
