a scale factor is a number that u multiply one set of points by to get to the other set...

(3,9)....to (1.2,3.6)

so what are we gonna multiply 3 by to get to 1.2 ? And what are we gonna multiply 9 by to get to 3.6 ? It should be the same number

3x = 1.2 9x = 3.6
x = 1.2/3 x = 3.6 / 9
x = 0.4 x = 0.4

so 3 * 0.4 = 1.2
and 9 * 0.4 = 3.6

so ur scale factor is 0.4 or 2/5
