Two cyclists start at the same point and travel in opposite directions. One cyclist travels 6 / km h faster than the other. If the two cyclists are 216 km apart after 4 hours, what is the rate of each cyclist?

We can find the rate of each cyclist (assuming the rate is the amount they can travel in an hour) by dividing by 4 and then adding 6.

216/4 = 54

54 + 6 = 60.

The rate of each cyclist is 54 km/h and 60 k/ph.
