Well.. if you don't have a calculator....
then you could multiply the fraction by 1 to convert the denominator to some multiple of 10. The denominator is then the place of the numerator digits.
27/75 * 4/4 = 108/300 factor out a 3 on both top and bottom
108/300 = 36/100 = 0.36
