Which of the following is a function equivalent to f(x) = 4(1.8)2x?

f(x) = 4(3.24)x
f(x) = 4(3.24x)

(you forgot to put the "^" symbol before the X to show it is rising to "2x",, AKA an exponent, but that's ok <3

Explanation:

Please do not listen to the other answer! It is wrong and i will show you why.

First we need to take a look at the exponent and the number in parentheses. If anyone remembers, we need to use the distributive property to distribute the '2' in the exponent '2x' to the number(s) inside the parentheses.

So you would go: 1.8 x 2 = 3.24

You would then put the 3.24 in the place of the 1.8 to give you:

f(x) = 4(3.24)^x

Now, you may ask, 'biscuit, why do we keep the exponent 'x'? shouldn't we put it inside the parentheses?',, and to that i say no! We only used the 2 from the exponent, so the x stays in it's place.

You also might ask 'biscuit, why don't we go a step further and multiply the 4 by the 3.24?',, and to that I also say no! Remember, the question asked us to find a function equivalent to our original equation, not solve the whole equation <3
