The slope of both sides is needed in order to determine whether they are parallel, perpendicular or neither.
The slope of a line connecting two points is just the change in y over change in x.
WX
m = (-3 - 5)/(0 - -1)
m = -8/1
m = -8
YZ
m = (5 - 2)/(2- -1)
m = 3/3
m = 1
The sides are neither parallel or perpendicular.
