Five is added to three more than a certain number, resulting in 19
5 + 3 + (x) = 19
8 + x = 19
x = 19 - 8 = 11
Thus, the certain number is
11

when 5 is added to 3 more then a certain number, the result is 19
x + 3 + 5 = 19
x + 8 = 19
x = 19 - 8
x = 11 <== ur number
