The most important achievement of secular modernists in recent times is the degree of freedom or rights that has been given to many citizens in modern-day Egyptian: more freedom and rights have been easier to come by, most especially because of the ban and control of the strong Muslim Brotherhood which had been guided by many religious laws that stepped on the personal rights of many Egyptians who have now dropped Sharia Law, stopped praying as much as before, and started accepting gender equality.
