Emma promises to pay greta $400 because "she does not have as much money as other people." emma's promise is not enforceable because: greta has not given consideration in return. emma could have paid more. society does not want gifts cheapened by making them legally enforceable. the redistribution of wealth on a one-to-one basis is not a valid social goal.

This is an example of unenforceable contract. It is where a transaction or deal is valid but the court will not enforce or compel them to do so. In this situation, this is not enforceable because Emma could have given more money or paid more money.
