Answer:

The republic (roman heritage) is the form of government in which a representative is chosen to be its chief.

Democracy (greek heritage)is the people's government, which proposes equality and rights for the people.

The similarity of the present and the old democracy:

• Every citizen has the right to vote

• Laws

• Foreigners do not participate in politics

• Division of social classes

And their differences are:

• Not everyone was considered a citizen

• Today over 16 can vote, and before only over 18 with Athenian parents

• Foreigners paid taxes

• Indirect participation

• Discrimination against women

Looking at the forms of government in ancient times and today, it has changed a lot, knowing that all these changes happened little by little due to achievements that were achieved through protests, and many attempts.

Formerly due to all these particularities and laws, approximately 90% of the non-voting population, and currently excluding prisoners and foreigners, every population has this right, which was earned due to freedom and equality before the law.
