Hi again :)

5(y + 1) = 30
Once again, use the distributive property
(5)(y) + (5)(1) = 30
5y + 5 = 30
Add -5 to both sides
5y + 5 - 5 = 30 - 5
5y = 25
Divide both sides by 5
5y/5 = 25/5
y = 5
