The formula to find slope is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
4 - (-8)
4 + 8 12
--------- = -------- = ----- = -4
-1 - 2 -3 -3

slope = (4 + 8)/(-1 - 2)
slope = 12 / -3
slope = -4
