a box contains 1.8*x10^24 atoms. one third of them are carbon, the other two thirds are oxygen. How many carbon atoms are in the box? use scientific notation

(1.8 *10^24)/3=0.6 *10^24

so the result would be
0.6*10^24

in scientific notation you need to have a single digit in front of the comma, so you need to convert it
0.6*10^24=
0.6*10*10^23=
6*10^23
