perpendicular lines, slope is opposite and reciprocal
y = 8x + 5 has slope = 8
so
perpendicular line slope = -1/8

Answer:
(1)/(8)

Explanation:

The given equation of a line :
y = 8x + 5

We know that general Slope-intercept form of equation is given by :-

y=mx+c, where m is the slope of the line.

When we compare the given equation the general slope intercept form of equation , we get

Slope of line = 8

We know that the product of slopes of two perpendicular line is -1.

Let m be the slope of line that is perpendicular to the line
y = 8x + 5, then we have

-8* m=-1\\\\\Rightarrow\ m=(1)/(8)
