Explanation: John Brown failed at Harpers Ferry because he told his plans to start a raid or revolt there to Hugh Forbes, who was hired by him to carry out some drilling but who would betray him with some US Senators for not receiving more money than agreed. Hugh Forbes said they should be very careful with Brown and put them on alert, which later meant that many people knew about his raid plan. John Brown hoped to have many allies but nothing happened as he had in his plans so that on October 17, 1859 he was captured by the US Marines and on December 2 of that same year he was sentenced to the gallows for murder crimes and rebellion.
