A pyramid is placed inside a prism the pyramid has the same base area b as the prism but half the height of the prism the height of the prism is 30 ft which expression gives the volume of the pyramid ?

Given,

The base area of the prism = base area of the pyramid = b,

Also, the height of the prism = 30 ft,

While, the height of the pyramid =
\frac{\text{height of prism}}{2}


=(30)/(2)=15\text{ ft}

Now, the volume of the pyramid =
(1)/(3) × base area × height


=(1)/(3)* b* 15


=(15b)/(3)

= 5b ft²

Hence, THIRD option is correct.
