2/5 of the students in your class are in band. Of these, 1/4 play the saxophone. What fraction of your class plays the saxophone?

10/20 because if u find the common denominator of 5 and 4 it would be 20 and if you multiply 2 and 5 it would be 10 and 5x1 will equal 5and 10/20 is greater than 5/20

So the problem asks us to find the fraction of your class that plays the saxophone. To find this, all you need to do is divide 2/5 by 1/4. We need to do this because we are basically taking 1/4 of 2/5. When we do this operation, we get 8/5, which is 1 3/5 in mixed fraction form.
