Why, in some ways, is the term American Revolutions more appropriate than American Revolution?

I believe since there were multiple battles taking place in the American Revolution and not just one. Might be why the chose Revolutions.

In a certain way, the term American Revolutions is more appropriate than the American Revolution, because the revolutionary independence process initiated by the settlers in the 1770s against Britain was not a unified process, but was developed in a particular way in each of the Thirteen Colonies Therefore, there were as many revolutions as colonies in North America, because each of them acted on their own until all of them were integrated into the Continental Congress.
