$48000 / 12 months = $4,000 /month

$6000/month - $4000/month = $2000/month

$2000/month / (0.04) = $50,000/month in sales

Answer:

$5,000 in sales

Explanation:

dividing the annual salary by 12 to find how much she makes in a month:

48,000/12 = $4,000

If she wants to make $6,000 this month, she needs

6,000 - 4,000 = $2,000 in comissions

$2,000 is the 4% of how much she made in sales.

denoting the total of sales by x:

4%x = 2,000

---> 0.04x = 2,000

this makes x = 2,000/0.04

--> x = $50,000

So to get a moth salary of $6,000 she needs to have $5,000 in sales
