Given: 2x-3y = 21.................(1)

-6x+2y=7...................(2)

Find:(a): Explain the steps you would take to solve the system by eliminating the x-terms.

(b)Explain the steps you would take to solve the system by eliminating the y-terms.

(c)Choose either of the methods described in parts I or II to solve the system of equations. Write your answer as an ordered pair.

Explanation: for to eliminating x ,multiply by 3 in equation (1)

6x-9y=63

-6x+2y=7

on solving the equation we get ,

y=-10

(b) for to eliminating y , mutiply by 2 in equation (1) and by 3 in equation (2).

4x-6y=42

-18x+6y=21

on solving we get,

x=-(63)/(14)

(c) the ordered pair of the equation is

(-(63)/(14),-10)
