jay and Blair went fishing. together they caught 27 fish. jay caught two times as many fish as Blair. how many fish did jay and Blair each caught? write an equation and solve. explain your work

Make formulas for their fish J = 2B, B = X, so J = 2X, and B = X, then B + J = 27, and 3X = 27. X = 9, and J = 2(9), and B = 9, so Jay caught 18 fish, and Blaire caught 9
