To find if (-2,9) is a solution of the equation y = x - 7, just plug the values back into the original equation. You can get these values by using the coordinate point.

9 = -2 - 7

9 ≠ -9
Since the values are not equal, the coordinate point (-2,9) is not a solution of the equation y = x - 7. Hope this helps and have a fabulous day!

No because if you plug in the ordered pair you would get 9=-2-7 which equals -9 making -9 and 9 unequal means (-2,9) is not a solution.
