In order to solve for this inequality, we need to begin simplifying.
First, subtract 3 from both sides. We can do this because of the subtraction property of equality. This changes the equation to:
(1/4)w< (-9)
Next, multiply both sides by 4. We can do this because of the multiplication property of equality. We want to do this to eliminate the fraction. This changes the equation to:
W < (-36)
Now, graph. We know that W is less than -36, so graph W < (-36). This puts a straight up and downline, parallel to the axis, with the left side of the line filled in. The graphed file looks like the file attached.
