For finding the sum of
(2)/(5) and (2)/(4)
You need to have the same denominator in order to add
The least common multiple of 4 and 5 is 20

(2)/(5) multiplied by 4 on the numerator and the denominator

(2)/(4) multiplied by 5 on the numerator and the denominator
Giving us:

(8)/(20) +
(10)/(20)
=
(18)/(20)
It can further be simplified into:

(9)/(10)

convert to /20 first

2/5=8/20
2/4=10/20

sum is 8/20+10/20=18/20 = 9/10
