15% fat in 5 pounds & 3% fat in 7 pounds,
So, 15 x 5 + 3 x 7
= 75 + 21
= 96
After mixture, Total weight is 12 pounds,
So, 96 ÷ 12 = 8%
Therefore,
8%
is the correct answer.

Ground beef:
Amount = 5 lb
Fat = 15% of 5 lb = 0.15*5 = 0.75 lb fat
Turkey:
Amount = 7 lb
Fat = 3% of 7 lb = 0.03*7 = 0.21 lb fat
Total mass = 5 + 7 = 12 lb
Total fat = 0.75 + 0021 = 0.96 lb
Percent fat = 100*(0.96/12) = 8%
Answer: 8%
