Tooth fillings are often made of gold or porcelain because these materials are
nonreactive
means that they don't corrode or rust and they are resistible to staining
Their thermal conductibility is low
chemically similar to teeth

they do not rust or corrode and they don't have led in them. Porcelain and gold are also used because they have a high stain resistance.
